Accountant - Youth Vision Society - Gaza
Youth Vision Society is a Palestinian non-profit association established in Gaza in 2009.
YVS aims to promote the concepts of civil engagement in accordance to vision that can meet needs of Palestinian youth through raising democratic awareness to contribute in the development process. YVS is starting recently implementing “Strengthening Community Participation for Talented Palestinian Youth (Youth Got Talent)” in partnership with “Civic Participation Program”, funded by US Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Catholic Relief Service (CRS). Youth Got Talent project aims to enhance leadership and entrepreneurship civic engagement among talented Palestinian youth to express their issues and needs.
YVS seeks to hire qualified candidates for the following Vacancy:
Position Title: Accountant
Position Type: Regular Employment-full time
Work Base: Gaza Strip
Duration: 11 months
Main Responsibilities:
1. Recording and Bookkeeping of financial transactions includes payments, receipts and other journal entries .
2. Finalizing the monthly financial reports, and prepare financial management reports.
3. Reconciling monthly bank statements and managing banking matters.
4. Compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare all financial statements.
5. Assist in resolving accounting and financial problems and/or issues.
6. Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with policies and procedures.
7. Establish the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
8. Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities.
Qualifications/Experience:
1. University degree in Accounting or Finance.
2. Minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably in a similar role.
3. Knowledge of accounting software systems.
4. Knowledge of applicable accounting laws, codes and regulations.
Personal Skills:
1. Excellent Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook…etc.
2. Excellent time and organizational management skills.
3. Excellent ability to work under pressure and carry out multiple tasks
4. Highly motivated to work within teams
5. Strong analytic, personal and communications skills
