JCP Deputy Coordinator - UNRWA - Jerusalem
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees invites applications from qualified candidates for the post of:
JCP Deputy Coordinator
1-Vacancy No. : 077/2013/X
2-Duty Station : Field Office Jerusalem
3-Department : Job Creation Programme
4-Grade & Salary : LDC Contract Band “G”
Salary starting at 1,278.60JD, depending on experience & qualifications, that varies in accordance to the pay policies set by the Agency.
5-Allowances : Dependency Allowances payable and other benefits (Medical Insurance) & Currency Adjustment Factor.
6-Qualifications:
-Advanced university degree in social sciences, public administration, management or other related field.
-Seven years of progressively responsible, professional experience working on implementing and managing programmes/projects, with at least five years of management experience.
-Excellent command of written and spoken Arabic and English.
Competencies
-Computer literate and skilled in the usage of standard software applications.
-Ability to effectively implement programme strategies and manage day-to-day operations of large projects.
-Strong supervision and team building skills; able to effectively work with others in a complex and demanding environment.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills including drafting of project proposals and donor reports.
-Strong problem-solving skills; capacity to work on a wide range of issues.
-Ability to deliver under tight deadlines and heavy pressure.
-Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to operate effectively across organizational boundaries and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
-Possession of a valid driving license.
-The incumbent will be required to travel frequently throughout the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
-Experience/qualifications in logistics, procurement and civil engineering.
-Experience in developing and managing livelihood programmes.
-Experience related to building small scale infrastructure, WASH and agriculture programmes.
-Knowledge and understanding of cross cutting issues such as protection, gender and environmental issues an added advantage
